Amilleonna “Millie” Golden, an Independence High School and Fort Hayes Career Center senior, discovered her passion for carpentry and building inspections through hands-on construction projects, including helping build a Habitat for Humanity home for a local family. Her dedication and curiosity led to an internship with the City of Columbus Department of Building and Zoning Services and a post-graduation apprenticeship opportunity with Elford Construction.
This spring, the long-standing relationship with CCS and the Rotary Club of Columbus took center stage during the Celebration of Excellence ceremony honoring dozens of students for their accomplishments.
