Following last night’s vote by the Board of Education, Columbus City Schools (CCS) Supt./CEO Dr. Angela Chapman and new Athletics Director Scott Williams announced today that the District is investing $2.5 million in Eastmoor Academy’s athletic facilities, demolishing and fully replacing the aging football stadium’s home and visitors sections.

Amilleonna “Millie” Golden, an Independence High School and Fort Hayes Career Center senior, discovered her passion for carpentry and building inspections through hands-on construction projects, including helping build a Habitat for Humanity home for a local family. Her dedication and curiosity led to an internship with the City of Columbus Department of Building and Zoning Services and a post-graduation apprenticeship opportunity with Elford Construction.

This spring, the long-standing relationship with CCS and the Rotary Club of Columbus took center stage during the Celebration of Excellence ceremony honoring dozens of students for their accomplishments.
