Dress Code

Students are expected to follow the Fort Hayes Arts & Academic High School dress code.

Not Permitted

  • No shorts
  • No sagging
  • No flip-flops, slides, etc. Feet must be protected.
  • No halter tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, muscle shirts, or basketball jerseys. These clothing items are permitted only over a T-shirt.
  • No see-through clothing of any kind
  • No bare midriffs
  • No hats inside the building
  • No pajamas, bonnets, wave caps, or scarves

Clothing and Accessories

No clothing, jewelry, backpack/bag that advertises or promotes alcohol, drugs, tobacco, firearms, culturally inappropriate content, or offensive social messaging, or that contains profanity. Other concerns will be addressed as needed.

Skirts

All skirts, front and back, must be 2 inches from the knee. A guardian will be notified and asked to bring the student a change of clothing if necessary.

Final Decision

School administration has the final decision on appropriate dress and grooming.
